Easter 2009

Yes, I'm late on posting this. I'm actually pretty late on posting quite a few events that have occurred in the past month. It's hard keeping a blog updated when you have a baby. Granted, it was difficult for me in my pre-baby days as well, but sheesh, I just don't know how all these moms (ahem, Karen and Ehlan) are able to write as much as they do.

I would like to blame my delay on the fact that we had houseguests, then were out of town ourselves, and I was frantically completing our taxes just a few days before they were due, but in reality, I probably could have kept the blog updated. But, we'll just chalk this one up to another case of "coulda woulda shoulda" and I'll post some adourable photos of L in exchange for online readership forgiveness. :)

OK, back to cute baby stuff.

Last week, we celebrated Lola's first Easter. It was fun. We dressed her up (twice) for photos. Once in her cute little bunny onesie, and then in the pretty white eyelet sundress that was a gift from her Grandma Linda and Papa Lou. (Side Note: Having two holiday outfits had nothing to do with her ruining one via poop. Instead, when you are so tiny and vulnerable, your mother acts like she is 7 years old and dresses you like a little doll just so she can take photos).

Nine-week old Lola:

Josh's attempt to get her to smile for the camera, but not move (hence to reduce bluriness):

And, then a super cute photo of her sitting with her gift from Grandma Linda and Papa Lou:
I think the above photo is my favorite, mostly because that's her real smile. :)

And then a shot with her daddy who is holding her eco-friendly bunny. It's made of all natural dye, which I love. I hope when she starts knawing on everything, she'll go for this bunny.

OK, now costume change!

I demanded we go outside and take photos because it was just so darn nice out, and because it was Easter and I feel there is an unspoken rule that requires outside photos for Easter.

(Note: cute little vans).

After all this ruckus, Lola decided it was time for a nap. Josh and I agreed, and while she was sleeping we participated in what has become one of our Easter traditions: dying hardboiled eggs.

The colorful eggs didn't last very long. :)

  1. She looks so grown-up, sitting on the couch and smiling! It's like a school picture...
